New Data Centers Support
Rapid Growth of Mailshell's Cloud-based Reputation Filters
SAN FRANCISCO, June 10, 2009 - Mailshell,
the leading provider of traffic reputation, anti-spam and
anti-phishing engines for OEMs, today announced the launch
of 10 new data centers on five continents. The expanded
global presence provides a 100x increase in throughput and
further decreases latency of LiveFeed, Mailshell's cloud-based
real-time traffic reputation service. Mailshell LiveFeed
identifies and quantifies reputation, and 'Powered by Mailshell'
filters block spam and phishing, for more than 40 OEM partners
and millions of end users worldwide.
The company now has data centers throughout
the world including the United States, the United Kingdom,
Germany, the Russian Federation, Hong Kong, China, Japan,
Singapore, Australia, India, Argentina and Panama. Mailshell's
engines for OEMs include intelligence for each client to
identify and query the fastest and most available data center
for its LiveFeed queries. With the new data centers, Mailshell's
overall capacity now exceeds more than 100 billion LiveFeed
requests per month. The company publishes a global system
status map for its data centers on its public website.
"We're investing in greater capacity and
availability to accommodate LiveFeed's dramatic growth in
Europe, Asia and South America," said Tonny Yu, CEO of Mailshell.
"Already in 2009, several OEM partners have increased their
global footprint or switched from other providers to 'Powered
by Mailshell' solutions."
Mailshell LiveFeed is a real-time 'in the
cloud' data service that quantifies traffic reputation via
advanced statistical models. Unlike other reputation services
that provide only a binary 'good' or 'bad' rating, LiveFeed
provides granular trust ratings with automated adjustment
over time as reputations change. By focusing reputation
on mathematical models, rather than simply an 'IP black
list' approach, LiveFeed provides more accurate, highly
scalable detection.
