"Mailshell Sendmail Plugin" is the only
Sendmail filter which utilizes the award-winning Mailshell Anti-Spam
Engine, the easiest and most accurate solution to
spam.
Besides utilizing all the capabilities
of Mailshell Anti-Spam Engine to compute a spam score, "Mailshell
Sendmail Plugin" does MTA host name verification,
sender address verification, file extension checks
for attachments and detailed logging to syslog. All
this is done by a simple installation and configuration
as described below.
The Mailshell Sendmail Plugin runs as
an External Filter and calculates a spam "score" for
each message being processed. Unlike tools with statically
defined patterns for spam messages, the Mailshell
Sendmail Plugin dynamically retrieves new patterns
from Mailshell Network thus providing greater accuracy
for new spam messages.
The score ranges from 0 to 100; the
higher the message score the more likely the message
is spam. The score is added to message headers so
it can be processed by Server-Wide, Domain-Wide and
Account Rules.
By default the added header lines look
like this:
X-SendmailPlugin-Score: 91
X-SpamCatcher-Score: 91
X-SpamCatcher-Flag: Yes
In addition, if the message is spam,
i.e. spam score for the message is higher than spam
threshold specified in the configuration file, "Subject"
header will be tagged like this:
Subject: [Spamcatcher] example subject
Note: The Mailshell Sendmail Plugin
is available only for FreeBSD, Linux and Solaris.
Before you order the Sendmail Plugin License, make
sure the plugin is available for your platform.
You have to install and configure the
plugin before you run Sendmail.
