Aladdin Systems Licenses Mailshell
Spam Filter for Global Retail Distribution
WATSONVILLE, CA - October 8, 2003 - Aladdin Systems,
Inc., an Aladdin Systems Holdings, Inc., company (OTC
BB: ALHI), today announced that it will publish
SpamCatcher, a desktop spam-filtering program developed
by Mailshell Inc., the leading OEM provider of anti-spam
software. Aladdin also licensed Mailshell's software
developers' kit to create additional SpamCatcher
products for other languages and platforms.

Mailshell's anti-spam engine is deployed at more than

spam by using more than a thousand spam-blocking rules,
including pattern matches, heuristic functions, and
proprietary and third party databases. Complex algorithms
are applied to compute the probability that each piece
of e-mail is spam. The Mailshell Engine also creates
a fingerprint ID for every e-mail message and uses it
to continuously analyze new spam, create new rules and
adjust the weighting of existing rules. Since spam constantly
evolves, customers can opt to receive scheduled or real-time
rules updates.
