GTA Integrates 'Powered
by Mailshell' Spam Filter into its Firewall and VPN
Products
Advanced Spam Filtering Added to Full Range of Security
Appliances
Orlando, FL, December 8, 2004 - Global
Technology Associates Inc. (GTA) today introduced advanced
spam filtering in its GNAT Box OS firewall and VPN products,
by integrating the award-winning spam engine from Mailshell,
the OEM anti-spam leader and creator of the world's
first SpamCompiler. With today's release, GTA's products
now feature embedded spam filtering functionality within
the firewall email proxy. A simple activation code allows
customers to enable spam filtering without downloading
any new software. GTA will release versions of its full
product line, from small firewall appliances through
its large enterprise-level appliances, featuring the
'Powered by Mailshell' filter.

Mailshell engine provides exceptional spam filtering
accuracy and integrated perfectly within the available
footprint of our firewall appliances," said Paul Emerson,

The Mailshell engine features the world's
first SpamCompiler, which can process more than a million
filter checks in a fraction of a second. It also filters
mail using Mailshell's new SpamRepute Index, an advanced
statistical analysis-based method of quantifying email
senders' reputations, to identify 'phishing' and other
fraud-based email.
The Mailshell-enabled products will become
available with release of GNAT Box OS version 3.6 for
new firewall appliances (GB-2000, GB-2000e, GB-250 and
GB-250e), and shortly thereafter on GNAT Box OS version
3.6 for current firewalls models (GB-1500, GB-1200,
GB-1000R, GB-750, GB-500, GB-200, RoBoX-R and GB-Ware).
