Message Partners Introduces
"Powered by Mailshell" Spam and Phishing Protection
NEW ROCHELLE, NY, May 23, 2005 - Message
Partners today announced the addition of new spam and
phishing detection via its integration of the SpamCompiler
Engine from Mailshell. Mailshell's spam and phishing
protection is now integrated into Message Partners'
Message Processing Platform (MPP), the leading middleware
framework for building email filtering and compliance
services. Message Partners provides industry-leading
integration tools that enable scalable, flexible, policy-driven
email security and compliance applications. MPP can
now deploy the robust Mailshell anti-spam and anti-phishing
technology on hundreds of thousands of Linux, MacOS
X, FreeBSD and Solaris email servers for major service
provider's, SMB's and enterprise customers.
MPP is an email security middleware application
used to build email filtering, archival and compliance
systems. MPP replaces complex, inflexible filtering
applications and appliances, point anti-virus and anti-spam
applications and open source filtering tools with a
scalable policy-based, customizable application framework.
MPP provides the integration point and a single point
of management, monitoring and configuration for the
key service elements of filtering services including
email servers, commercial and open-source scanning engines,
provisioning systems, management tools, security controls,
quarantine review services and more into a cohesive,
easy-to-manage application. MPP supports many popular
email servers including Sendmail, Qmail, CommuniGate
Pro, Postfix and Open-Xchange.
"Message Partners' flexible middleware
approach to email security serves an important and under-served
segment of the market," said Tonny Yu, CEO of Mailshell.
"We are impressed with its combination of top-tier technology
along with hands-on, focused customer service."
The Mailshell SpamCompiler engine uses
compiler technology to track and correlate "hard to
fake" attributes of all incoming email. The data is
compiled from Mailshell's global network of OEM partners
and data centers, and combined to compute an overall
reputation and score for every message. By leveraging
the power of compiler technologies, Mailshell's engine
can apply up to one million checks per message while
still performing faster than competing solutions.
"By integrating Mailshell technology,
MPP can reach new markets such as large service providers
who use Linux and Solaris as well as MacOS X customers
who are currently underserved by the security industry,"
said Michael Katz, president and CEO of Message Partners.
"Our customers see a huge benefit from Mailshell's technology
in detecting spam, phishing and fraud as compared to
open source technologies like SpamAssassin."
