Mailshell's Reputation Service and Spam Detection SDKs Support Cavium Networks' OCTEON Multi-Core MIPS64 Processor Family

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - September 3, 2008 - Mailshell Inc., a leading provider of email reputation, anti-spam and anti-phishing engines for OEMs today announced the availability of email security SDKs and reputation data service for Cavium Networks' (NASDAQ:CAVM) OCTEON multi-core MIPS64 processor family. By making Mailshell's engines available for these processors, OEM vendors using Cavium's OCTEON processors can easily integrate 'Powered by Mailshell' filters for protection from email-borne threats. Cavium Networks is a leading provider of highly integrated semiconductor products that enable intelligent processing for networking, communications, storage and security applications.

"OCTEON is being widely used by Tier-1 networking, telecom and wireless equipment OEMs building intelligent and content aware systems," said Amer Haider, director of strategic marketing, Cavium Networks. "We are pleased to work with Mailshell to offer OEMs an excellent and ready-to-use email filtering solution and reputation service on our OCTEON processor family."

Mailshell's SDKs provide complete and consistently accurate protection against fraud, phishing and spam. The SDKs are available on more than 10 operating systems and require as little as 32KB of code on the device. They are embedded into security, networking and messaging products including software appliances, SaaS platforms, gateway security software, desktop security suites, UTM, mobile devices, wireless access points, firewalls, modems, and other low memory devices.

"We're seeing increasing demand among security and networking providers for quantifiable reputation-based solutions," said Tonny Yu, CEO of Mailshell. "Cavium Networks OCTEON processor family provides a high performance and scalable platform for networking vendors' security systems. Adding support for Cavium's processors will reduce integration cost and time for our OEM partners."

Mailshell LiveFeed quantifies reputation via advanced statistical models, and unlike other reputation services that provide only a binary 'good' or 'bad' rating, LiveFeed provides granular trust ratings with automated adjustment over time as reputations change. By focusing reputation on mathematical models, rather than simply an 'IP black list' approach, LiveFeed provides more accurate, highly scalable detection.

Mailshell also provides superior detection of bots, computers that are surreptitiously hijacked without the owner's knowledge. Mailshell tracks, quantifies and updates reputations in real-time via data collected from its own traps, OEM partners who upload anonymous data statistics from their applications, a collaborative network of end users, and a network of data sharing partnerships.
