GRISOFT Selects Mailshell to Provide Integrated Spam and Phishing Protection for its Security Portfolio

SAN FRANCISCO, CA; MILLBURN, NJ. - September 13, 2006 - GRISOFT, the supplier of AVG security software, today announced that it will integrate in its security portfolio anti-spam and anti-phishing protection from Mailshell, the OEM anti-spam leader. With the addition of spam and phishing protection in the AVG security portfolio will supplement GRISOFT's existing, comprehensive malware protection against a broad array of threats like spyware, adware, dialers, keyloggers, trojans and worms. GRISOFT's customers will join more than 6,000 corporations and 10 million users who already rely on 'Powered by Mailshell' filters to block spam and phishing.

GRISOFT's AVG computer security products are well known for its state-of-the-art protection combined with extraordinary value. GRISOFT recently released public beta versions for its AVG 7.5 security portfolio, which is extended to include AVG Anti-Spyware, AVG Anti-Malware and AVG Internet Security a comprehensive suite of computer security tools. The beta programs also include substantial improvements in data protection, ease-of-use with a new and unified user interface, automatic updates and access to 24/7 customer support. These new products will incorporate the most advanced technologies that are designed to keep users' data secure, which will now be supplemented with Mailshell for additional email protection.

"The addition of spam and phishing protection is a natural next step after our recent acquisition and re-launch of the ewido anti-spyware functionality," said Karel Obluk, CEO of Grisoft. "Mailshell's existing solution and future roadmap allows us to offer true best-of-breed technology to our customers."

By integrating Mailshell's SpamCompiler engine, AVG customers will see consistently accurate levels of anti-spammer and anti-phisher protection. SpamCompiler optimizes, compiles and executes more than one million filter checks in a fraction of a second to determine if a message is spam or not. By combining a fast, compact, flexible, complete decision tree with an automatically self-tuning intelligent engine, Mailshell's SpamCompiler engine consistently generates highly accurate results in recognizing spam, phishing and other forms of email fraud. The engine allows GRISOFT to choose either five-minute incremental updates, or real-time checks of Mailshell's network, to ensure protection from the most recent spam and phishing attacks."

"GRISOFT's massive global user base, along with its exciting recent business initiatives, makes it an ideal new partner for us," said Tonny Yu, CEO of Mailshell. "We're honored by the chance to help serve the AVG community."
